A Sustainable Business is good for Profits as well as the Environment
“Climate change is destroying our path to sustainability. Ours is a world of looming challenges and increasingly limited resources.”
These are the words of Ban Ki-Moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, and they aptly sum up the conundrum faced by so many businesses all over the globe.
In light of this, every company has to find ways to become more sustainable in order to survive. Their profits depend on it just as much as the planet does.
Wogaard’s founders Christian and Preben Woergaard understand this. They launched the firm with a clear purpose: to optimise manufacturing processes and make them more cost-effective and environmentally-friendly.
The father and son team achieved this aim spectacularly thanks to a brilliant idea from Preben, who was working at a medium-sized subcontractor in charge of managing consumables such as tooling and cutting fluids.

The father and son team achieved this aim spectacularly thanks to a brilliant idea from Preben, who was working at a medium-sized subcontractor in charge of managing consumables such as tooling and cutting fluids.
He had noticed how much cutting fluid was being wasted. After investigating, Preben discovered that it was all flowing into the swarf bins below the machines. So he went to Christian with the idea of collecting the liquid from the bins. From this seemingly simple observation, the Coolant Saver was born.
Since its launch, the Wogaard Coolant Saver has made so many manufacturing processes more efficient for so many businesses, and the company is always eager to help more firms optimise their operations – for the sake of profits and the planet. “Over the last decade we have assisted hundreds of businesses in reducing the environmental impact of their manufacturing activities,” explains Wogaard Managing Director Jason Hutt. |
“Of course, we want to support clients making cost savings and improving their manufacturing processes, but together we have a bigger mission, which is to become more sustainable to support the environment.”
The Coolant Saver is not a complicated product. However, it executes its purpose so perfectly that it is impossible not to be impressed.
Its benefits are also easy to understand. Coolant Savers reduce costs by making machines require up to 50% less coolant usage and cutting down the amount of coolant that needs disposal by up to 90%.
They also use power more efficiently by using the power of the machine’s pump to reclaim fresh coolant and send it back into the machine, and keep working areas cleaner by reducing the amount of mess left in the swarf bin after any manufacturing process.
